One of Gangi’s biggest draws is its stunning views. The town’s elevated position means you’re treated to sweeping vistas of rolling hills, lush valleys, and distant mountains. Head to the town’s highest points for the best panoramas, especially at sunrise or sunset. When the weather is really clear you can even see Mount Etna with the snow white top in the distance.
Gangi is also home to several beautiful churches like Chiesa Madre (Mother Church) and Santuario dello Spirito Santo (Sanctuary of the Holy Spirit) that reflect its rich history and religious heritage.
Gangi is situated in the province of Palermo, in the northern part of Sicily. It’s about a two-hour drive from Palermo city, making it a great day trip or a relaxing weekend getaway. The best way to reach Gangi is by car. The drive from Palermo takes you through beautiful countryside and winding mountain roads. Be careful on the winding roads as slow vehicles can be right around the corner and also some crazy drivers that speed through the curvy roads.
Where to Stay
The are a few places you can stay at directly in the town. We chose a Hotel at the top of the town where we had the most amzing view over the surroundings. The Hotel was called Baglio Tramontana. They also have a great Restaurant whith amzing Sicilian dishes. The parking situation is not really easy in such narrow streets and most streets are not meant to drive through at all. So better park outside of town. When you drive up till the farthest en of the street you can park on the road side almost everywhere.
